That finance capital has decided it prefers for Kamala Harris to be the next president, as evidenced by how Obama has worked to replace Biden with Harris and then the media has acted to prop Harris up, shows we need to come to a new strategy in the class struggle. If Trump overcomes the efforts to rig the election for Harris, we’ll be able to adopt a different strategy, one which would be relatively easier to carry out. This is because the empire’s managers view Harris as a better puppet than both Biden and Trump.
Harris is an individual whose experiences and pathologies have made her especially susceptible towards manipulation, and is therefore driven to carry forth imperialist policies in a more dangerous way than these other leaders have. It’s because of Harris’ maladaptive coping mechanisms for her adverse childhood experiences, wherein she’s become a sadistic narcissist, that the imperial system has elevated her to this position. That Harris could become a top prosecutor, and then get selected by Clinton backers to become the new face of liberal interventionism.
Harris would be a highly effective tool for carrying out the next panned war provocations for the same reason she was so glad to advance racist carceral policies, and has consistently bullied her staffers: because this is someone who has a restless urge to cause harm towards whoever she sees as deserving of retribution. When Harris made “That little girl was me” the center of her campaign, showing how fixated she is on her childhood and on transferring her traumas outward, the war-makers saw this is a great sign.
Because our political system is based around waging wars of aggression, and attacking societal elements that are judged to be threats, the ones who decide our elections are always looking for personalities like Harris. For ambitious people that feel like they have something to prove (like with George W. Bush), or who are driven by their adverse childhoods to enact a misguided vision of justice (like with Obama). In the case of Harris, the defining emotion is particularly useful to the war-makers, because it’s come out in the form of wanting vengeance. Vengeance against the Black men in California’s carceral system, who Harris sees as equivalents to the father she’s scapegoated.
Even though politics is driven not by individuals but by systems, it’s necessary to talk about these personal things because they’re essential to understanding how dark of a path our ruling class is now going down. The empire managers see Harris as the perfect weapon for cracking down on dissent, waging war against the poor (as California’s Democratic Party is now doing), and instigating massive new global conflicts. It also seeks to use Harris’ identity for advancing the woke psyop, wherein neoliberalism and empire get rebranded as progressive through surface-level inclusivity.
The ruling class ironically aims to do this at the same time that Harris will intensify state violence against the Black community, asylum seekers, and Palestinians. It’s going to be an escalation of every aspect of the empire’s crimes. Whereas Trump brought chaos that the technocrats didn’t like, and Biden has become an empty shell who can’t do the job of president, Harris will fanatically advance their violent goals while acting as a culture war catalyst. The anti-woke psyop will be intensified in reaction, shrinking the discourse so that Harris’ actual crimes get obscured and the focus gets centered around distractions and wedge issues.
In this future, communists are going to lack opportunities that we would have had if Trump had turned out to be finance capital’s favored candidate. I believe that if our rulers were to favor Trump, it would backfire on them. Trump would put a Libertarian in his cabinet, creating a foothold in government for a party that’s against the Ukraine and “Israel” proxy wars (as well as allied with certain communists). And his getting back into office would allow him to fail, showing how MAGA isn’t a viable avenue for ending the wars, abolishing the intelligence agencies, or re-industrializing the country. For Trump to repeat his first term’s imperialist policies in a time when increased inflation has created massive antiwar sentiment would cause MAGA to decline. Communists would be able to fill the role in anti-establishment politics that MAGA has dominated for the last decade, with many of Trump’s supporters becoming independents like much of the Bernie Sanders base did.
This is part of why our rulers have become determined to make Harris win: it will save MAGA, which is a movement that’s become quite useful to finance capital. It’s an important piece of controlled opposition, one that can divert conservatives with proto-revolutionary consciousness away from joining the anti-imperialist struggle. Could finance capital’s effort to install Harris still fail? It’s possible, but we should no longer act like it’s probable. The scenario we need to spend this next half-year preparing for is one where we’re having to navigate conditions which would overall be more hostile than if Harris loses. Conditions where our enemies have gotten strengthened, if only for a moment. We can overcome this setback, and take advantage of the numerous ways that today’s situation is also advantageous to us. But we’ll need to maneuver things properly.
We can’t tail the Democrats, and do things like disavow Russia’s anti-fascist war or join in on fighting for the left wing of the culture wars, out of hope that this will convince the liberal fascists not to target us. We also can’t tail the right, and do things like portray MAGA as revolutionary or become right-wing culture warriors. The only way communism will win is by presenting a program that’s truly distinct from what any wing of the ruling class has to offer, and that thereby substantively challenges anti-communist ideology. The advocates of tailism use the rationale that modeling ourselves after something more established is how to gain power, but the real path to power is acting independently. This is distinct from the strategy of allying with elements of the ruling class that have potential to side against finance capital; these alliances don’t mean us becoming appendages for these smaller bourgeois elements, they mean us offering these elements a viable alternative to the present system of government.
The way we can credibly come to offer this alternative is by building our own base of support among the masses, and by building cadres that are sufficiently trained, equipped, and prepared to remain active amid even the most extreme attacks from the state. We need to establish connections with the labor organizations, and cultivate workers orgs that could act as front groups for us if we need to go underground. We need to construct cadres that can repel infiltrators, act with discipline, and engage in all the theoretical and physical training which we’ll need in order to win. We need to prepare for a potential future where even the liberal labor orgs get crushed, and we’ll have to do mass work in a fully clandestine way. We need to be on watch for attacks from the state’s counter-gangs, which will become more active as the Kamala Harris psyop inflames the culture wars. The Harris presidency will be when the USA’s version of the Jakarta Method becomes much more fully formed, and where we’ll need to adapt accordingly.
This maneuver of working to put in Harris is one that benefits our ruling class. But we can make it so that no amount of strategic intelligence on the part of our enemies is capable of thwarting the revolutionary struggle. Beneath the synthetic ruling class discourse psyops, the country’s people have come to a place of unprecedented compatibility with the class struggle. Let’s provide the people with the leadership they need in order to overthrow their government.
