MAGA communism’s purpose has always been to give Marxism a basis in material necessity. This necessity is to fulfill an American potential that’s recognized by the working masses as having been kept from us, and that can only be manifested through the class struggle. With the Trump White House’s assault against Iran, a new opening for MAGA communism has appeared. When we understand the mindset of the American people at this moment, we can overcome the present obstacles towards anti-imperialist agitation, and halt our government’s plans to expand its offensive into China.
To build a mass movement against World War III, we will have to relate to the masses in a way that’s actually Marxist; which right now means judging the sentiments of the masses not merely through surveys, but through how the people are directly responding to what our ruling class is doing. From parts of the left, we’ve heard an argument that there is no split over Iran within the MAGA base, with the alleged evidence being data showing almost all self-identified “MAGA Republicans” support the Iran strikes. When you are trained in how to identify trends among the masses—rather than in how to analyze “data”—it becomes clear how superficial these perspectives are. And it becomes easier to see the path towards rallying the MAGA base, as well as the broader American masses, around the U.S. empire’s defeat.
“MAGA Republican” is a very specific designation. How many among the original MAGA base, at this stage within the turbulent Trump 2.0, would still relate to a label like this? And why do these analyses only discuss public opinion on the Iran strikes, while not focusing on how the masses will react to the repercussions from the Iran war? When Americans have been faced with the reality of how much the war will impact gas and food prices, support for the war drops, including among Trump voters.
This is the big factor you need to account for when assessing popular sentiment: what this sentiment turns into when the contradictions have intensified. Which means applying Lenin’s “lower and deeper” principle, as he articulated in his analysis on how to draw the people away from supporting World War I: “Neither we nor anyone else can calculate precisely what portion of the proletariat is following and will follow the social-chauvinists and opportunists. This will be revealed only by the struggle, it will be definitely decided only by the socialist revolution. But we know for certain that the ‘defenders of the fatherland’ in the imperialist war represent only a minority. And it is therefore our duty, if we wish to remain socialists to go down lower and deeper, to the real masses; this is the whole meaning and the whole purport of the struggle against opportunism.”
The liberal focus on “data” comes from not being connected to such dialectical ways of thinking. To see where the MAGA base is at, and where the masses as a whole are at, you have to look at everything from a historical point of view. During the Iraq invasion, pro-imperialist ideology was vastly more prevalent among the masses than it is now, because the conditions had not yet deteriorated nearly as much as they have today. In 2026, there isn’t a stable mass base for the imperial project, because Americans of all political backgrounds are feeling the worst economic pressures in their lifetimes. Which means the MAGA communist strategy has a new opportunity to fulfill its purpose, and construct an anti-systemic popular front.
An anti-Epstein coalition, as advocated by the MAGA communist Haz Al-Din, is a critical step in this process. And if communists undertake this project the right way, we’ll be able to marry the anti-Epstein cause with the antiwar cause. The way to connect these two struggles, and bring the bulk of the masses into them, is by combating the efforts by our enemies at dividing us. Washington’s offensive depends on America’s people remaining unorganized and atomized, unable to translate the backlash over Epstein into a cohesive popular fight. This fight will manifest as a struggle against the ever-expanding imperial war.
When this war reaches China, our task will be to seize MAGA from the globalists, who as Haz predicts will appropriate conservatism to sell the offensive:
While many believe that China is allied with the globalists, that is only because they had attempted to use it, following China’s reform and opening up, to prolong their economic reign. They underestimated and did not take into account that the Communist Party had outsmarted them, and it is now readying itself and scrambling itself for an all-out-confrontation. All the typical fake ‘conservative’ jingoism and rhetoric will then be propagated by the ruling establishment - between ‘Western civilization’ and ‘the Asiatic Chinese,’ between ‘freedom loving Americans’ and the ‘Communist Chinese.’ All of this is nothing short of opportunism seeking to dupe and extinguish the partisanship of the MAGA movement, and hijack it into a vehicle for the same globalists it is, in its heart of hearts, attempting to fight against. They realize that attempting to enforce woke values by force hasn’t worked, so they are going to start pretending to be conservatives to dupe the people into fulfilling the same ends.
What’s changed since Haz wrote this in 2022 is that our government has transitioned into a mode of open antagonism towards America’s people. It no longer cares about hiding its crimes, because it believes Americans won’t do anything. Which means that as the imperial advance continues, and this keeps destroying our economy, there will come to be an ever-clearer line of conflict between the people and the government. The trajectory of America is open ruling-class war against the masses, and this brazen tyranny increasingly supersedes the attempts at pacifying the masses. If we give the people an organizational outlet for fighting back, they will “make America great again” in the way that this slogan was truly supposed to mean, and overthrow the banker dictatorship.
