The thing the USA’s people can learn from January 6 and the Trump assassination attempt is that the dominant wing of our ruling class views us as expendable. That the unelected intelligence officials and presidential handlers who truly run the country are willing to sacrifice its stability, should this be in the best interests of international monopoly capital. The FBI’s effort to make the Capitol Hill protest escalate into a break-in; and its clear role in the Secret Service failures that made the Trump rally shooting possible; both showed that these forces within the power structure seek to spread great chaos inside the country. And this gives the forces which oppose these destabilization efforts a mandate to come together against our increasingly aggressive deep state. To unite against the endless wars, the destruction of our liberties, the degrowth agenda, the censorship, and the efforts to bring chaos into our communities.
The catastrophe that monopoly capital is working to create won’t look like a civil war, at least not in the traditional sense of what “civil war” means. It will look like a collapse of the supporting institutions that still exist within our society, allowing for the state’s proxy counter-gangs to bring greater chaos. The civil war is going to be not a confrontation between left and right, but an assault on our economy and social sphere; an assault that’s carried out by the criminal gangs, the violent ultra-left groups, the “lone wolf” mass murderers, and other sources of terror which our ruling class cultivates. The question is whether we, the people who this campaign targets, are going to be able to unite against it and defeat the monopolists.
This is something we absolutely can do. The crucial thing is to approach our political activities from the standpoint of seeking societal unity. The counter-gangs, both left-wing and right-wing, want us to reject such a mentality of cohesion. The ones on the left view the country’s people as the enemy, characterizing the bulk of them as being fundamentally reactionary. This leads them to pursue adventurist violence and vandalism, treating these things as a replacement for organizing among the masses. The far-right works against mass unity by dividing the people along racial lines, portraying our capitalist crisis as an anti-white conspiracy engineered by Jews and communists. The ultra-lefts also use race for divisive purposes in their own ways, making them somewhat inverse to their ideological counterparts; the common attribute among these ideologies is that they divert attention away from the fight against monopoly capital, and fixate on social scapegoats.
During the 2024 election, we’re likely going to see these counter-gangs be mobilized even more than they were four years ago. Our ruling class wants discourse to be dominated by this manufactured battle between the “antifa” and “trad” camps, putting the culture war at the center of political thought. It’s an attempt to again make Americans as polarized as they were in 2020. Since then, many of the people have come to unite against the war machine, the engineered inflation crisis, and the censorship which covers up monopoly capital’s schemes. The narrative managers want to reverse this leap in mass consciousness, and activating their left-right dual color revolutions is how they aim to do this.
To maintain the mass unity we’ve gained, and get the people still more united, we need to promote the analysis that our collective interests are opposed towards those of the multinational corporations and banks. That what we need as the people of the North American continent is fundamentally in conflict with what’s best for global finance capital. This conflict is why our deep state has been carrying out these political policing maneuvers; why the deep state has been intervening in such extreme ways.
The Trump assassination plot was a massive escalation in this effort, one that the media put into the memory hole when the attack failed at eliminating its target. We must work to keep this event in the conversation, because it’s crucial to understanding where our ruling class is going and how to respond to its next attacks. It showed how much violence monopoly capital is willing to bring about; the attack wasn’t just an attempt to murder a presidential candidate, it was also something that also set off an explosion of unrest, which the feds would have strategically worked to inflame. That’s the scenario the feds hope to successfully realize as the election gets closer.
At the moment, the big lesson we need to internalize is that it’s not a good idea to show up to public gatherings which could get hijacked by agent provocateurs. We saw how the feds used this trap on January 6, and at the least we should be wise enough not to fall for it when they try it again. Beyond this thing that we shouldn’t do, we need to become active agents within history, and build a force that can defeat our imperialist deep state. This month’s Rage Against the War Machine rally in DC will be a great opportunity for bringing our anti-monopoly ideas to the people; the next step is to construct cadres and networks locally, ones that stay in operation no matter how severe the state’s repression gets.
It’s likely that the crackdowns against everyone who the Harris wing wants to crush, from communists to Libertarians to MAGA people, are about to get much worse. There are ways to survive these kinds of attacks, and to keep our political operations going. These maneuvers involve acting outside the normal realm of political activities, except not in an adventurist way like how the feds want us to act. They instead center around a particular art of caution; an art that’s been developed by people throughout history who’ve faced situations similar to the one we increasingly find ourselves in. The Communist Party of South Africa wrote a detailed resource on how to build and maintain clandestine groups. If you feel you’re in a place to fulfill this task, I recommend you read through it, and apply its warnings about surveillance to our modern environment of digital spying.
We need to start building these kinds of circles at the heart of each local mass organizing operation, creating roles for both the community as a whole and the small minority of people who will participate in below-ground activities. This is what can defeat the forces that seek to hold back history: a collective effort by the masses, and by trained professionals who serve the masses, to defend our communities from the counter-gangs while organizing the working class.
The vast majority of our society, including lower-level capital, has an interest in overthrowing the imperial system. The counter-gangs primarily recruit from the ultraviolent lumpen elements, which as we’ve seen in Britain are easy to incite through psyops. These psyops can only work if we don’t meet them with a challenge; if the counter-gangs are the only political elements that can form an on-the-ground presence. We will build an authentically revolutionary alternative to these controlled ops, and lead the people to victory against their monopolist dictatorship.
